INTRODUCTION
Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Gujrat, Pakistan has always been keen to address and work on national/international problems and their solution. Pakistan being as developing country, struggling from basic to advanced level problems for economic development in sectors likes energy, health, agriculture and industry. In this scenario, for the economic and social development of a country, universities hold great importance involved in producing well trained and skillful manpower. They also play role in basic and applied research including biotechnology will help in evolution of new processes and products which strengthen the economic growth.
Hayatian Society for Biochemistry and Biotechnolgy (HSBB), Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is holding one day International Symposium on “ ROLE OF BIOTECHNOLOGY FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH OF PAKISTAN” to be held on October 16, 2014. The sessions includes

  4. Industrial Biotechnology

  • To highlight the role of biotechnology in economic growth of Pakistan
  • Addresses the challenges faced by academia and industrial biotechnology and establishment of linkages between them
  • Future perspective of biotechnology in Pakistan
